Amaran is Tamil biographical action-war film from Rajkumar Periasamy, directed in 2024. The film has been inspired from a book written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, titled India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes. The film is produced by Raaj Kamal Films International in association with Sony Pictures Films India, a story about the valour of Major Mukund Varadarajan, portrayed by Sivakarthikeyan.

The Opening Day Performance :
Amaran opened very well collecting ₹24.7 crore on its opening day across all regions, ₹1.9 crore from Karnataka, ₹4.5 crore from APTG, ₹16.5 crore from Tamil Nadu, ₹1.2 crore from Kerala, and ₹0.6 crore from the rest of India. It is a very good opening collection, and that indicates that it has mass appeal. There was a huge share from Tamil Nadu.
Weekend Sprint :
The film had been showing consistent growth up to the end of the opening weekend. It had raked in ₹21.95 crore on Day 2 (Friday) and ₹24.15 crore on Day 3 (Saturday). This growth trajectory became even more robust with positive word-of-mouth reviews as it led to more footfalls in theaters, mainly in APTG and Tamil Nadu. The film managed to rake in ₹24.8 crore on Sunday, on Day 4. Its total for the opening weekend was very impressive at ₹96.6 crore.
