Hardik Pandya Remains at Top as ICC Drops New Men’s T20 Rankings
Bowling Rankings: Varun Chakravarthy Drops to Third
Current ICC T20 bowling rankings show considerable change in ranks, especially among Indian bowlers. India’s best spin bowler, Varun Chakravarthy, has dropped one step to third. Even with his great performances in the last games, he is now behind New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy, who has moved to number one, and West Indies’ Akeal Hosein, who holds the second spot.
Chakravarthy’s fall is surprising to most, given his capability to fool batsmen with his variations. The mystery bowler has been a key strength for the Indian team, providing key wickets in middle overs. His recent outings in international cricket and franchise league cricket, though, were not good enough to retain him in the second rank, causing him to slip slightly in the ranks.
India continues to dominate the top 10 of the T20 bowling rankings. Talented young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has picked up the seventh spot, and left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has entered the top 10 in the tenth spot. All-rounder Axar Patel, who is an all-weather player, has also left an impression, securing the 13th spot, strengthening India’s bowling ranks.
Batting Rankings: Abhishek Sharma Shines Again
In the most recent T20 batting rankings, Indian left-hand opener Abhishek Sharma has maintained his second position. His consistent performance and aggressive approach have put him at number two, just behind Australia’s Travis Head, who still leads the batting charts at the top position.
Sharma’s elevation up the ranks owes to his forceful and intimidating style at the crease. He has been a revelation in India for T20 cricket, setting up the innings with dynamic starts. His capacity for taking quick runs during powerplays has made him a vital component in the Indian T20 line-up.
In the meantime, Phil Salt of England has moved into third place and is a potential challenger for the top spots.
